Car Week has an unofficial Porsche day, and Werks Reunion is it. Put on by the Porsche Club of America, it fills the fairways at Corral de Tierra Country Club with an all-Porsche field, and it has become one of the largest single-marque gatherings of the week.
You get the full sweep of the brand, 356s and early 911s parked near modern GT cars and the occasional race car pulled from a collection for the day. Some are judged in a concours class, but most are simply there, owners in folding chairs, hoods up, the paddock conversation running all morning about builds and swaps and the one that got away.
The welcome gathering opens the run, with the main event filling the following hours. It reads more like a very large club meet than a formal concours, which is the appeal. The barrier to entry is low, the knowledge on the grass is deep, and the setting off the valley road is quieter than the Peninsula proper.
Bring water and sun cover, since Corral de Tierra sits inland where the fog burns off early and the afternoon warms up fast.
